CEO
Yan sets the overall company direction and leads the development team at Planypus, which he co-founded in 2005.
Yan has more than ten years experience in the software industry including leading a successful effort to build an open source quantum computing simulator, working on next generation semantic web technology at IBM’s prestigious Extreme Blue program, and as an early engineer at startups including G2 Switchworks and CohesiveFT.
Yan plays guitar, practices the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira, scuba dives, skis, and climbs mountains and is an avid photographer. Yan earned Bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
COO
Alex oversees operations in legal, financial, sales, and strategy at Planypus, which he co-founded in 2005. He has a history of entrepreneurial ventures, including Cashnetusa.com, a successful online small funds lender, as well as a background in financial consulting and financial modeling from a Big Four accounting firm.
Alex spends his free time playing soccer, volleyball, swimming, hiking, and reading. Alex earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Software Architect
Alex leads Planypus development focusing on infrastructure and integration with third party vendors. He has extensive experience in building back-end, monitoring and management applications in the telecom and travel domains.
When not coding, Alex enjoys playing tennis, hiking, skiing, and traveling. Alex earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and a Master of Science degree in Software Architecture from Loyola University, Chicago.
Director of Strategy
Stan oversees marketing and business development at Planypus. He has worked for a proprietary trading firm specializing in market-making and has developed strategic solutions for Fortune 500 companies while working for a management consulting company.
Software Architect
Anton is responsible for architecture and development of the user functionality for Planypus. He has extensive experience in the manufacturing, financial, and travel domains as a software developer.
In his time away from the computer, he enjoys traveling, reading, biking, rollerblading, and mountaineering. Anton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago.
Visual Branding Director
Tatyana is responsible for the brand identity, t-shirts and print materials for Planypus. She has contributed to the Chicago design community through her freelance work, as a Visual Branding designer for TEAMS Design, and as a structural and branding designer at Studio One Eleven. She currently lives in San Francisco.
Tatyana earned Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Graphic Design and Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Interaction Designer
Luciano brings seven years of user experience design and art direction experience from Brazil. He specializes in internet products, UI design, illustration and interface layout, including work with global brands like GM and CNN. Luciano is responsible for the new Planypus user experience and visual design, and is a passionate workaholic.
Luciano earned a bachelor degree in Graphic Design from UFPel in Brazil. When he is not designing something, he is an amateur musician, and the dedicated head of his family.
